Be renewed in faith, in hope, and in peace. The work of the enemy to tear you down has been formidable, but I will restore what has been torn down. I will strengthen what has become weakened through attacks on your body, soul and spirit. Yield to My power to build you up and prepare you to fulfill My purposes in your life. Yours is to overcome the despair that has developed as a result of relentless difficulties and begin to look to better days, says the Lord.
As believers, we need to learn how to understand the soul, which is made up of the intellect, will and emotions. Since it is full of “self” and does not want to submit to the Holy Spirit, it must be purified.
Because we are free moral agents, our own minds tell us what we think, but our thoughts are not necessarily God’s thoughts.
Morning Star, also known as “The Star”, is a high energy, nontraditional, contemporary Baptist church. Every week, we join together to worship God and to experience a relevant and powerful message, which teaches truths from the Bible. When you visit, all we’ll ask you to do is “relax”
If you are in search of a church home where you can serve God and be part of a loving family who loves and serves the Lord, please come join us. We want you, we need you, and we promise to love you.
We believe in Jesus Christ, we believe that All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that men and women of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. We believe in being empowered by knowing the true word of God.
Our Christ-centered service is designed for everyday people who are investigating the claims of Christianity, as well as, those interested in learning how to apply biblical principles to everyday life. You’ll find our service to be pressure-free, relaxed and easy to understand.
- Casual atmosphere, friendly people.
- Messages about Jesus that are relevant to your life.
- A fun area for children. We teach your kids about Jesus we don’t just baby-sit.
- A place to discover that God can use anyone and that you matter so much to Him – and to us.
Whether you’re single, married, single again, with or without children – no matter where you’ve been – we invite you to experience the difference at The Star. We present the ageless truths of the Bible in a safe, laid-back format that’s fun and easy to understand.
The Star is full of everyday people who believe church is not a place to “see” and “be seen” but a place to come with questions, concerns, doubts and even broken hearts. Morning Star is a place to find honest answers, to heal and mend, and believe it or not, even have fun.
11 And she made a vow, saying, “O LORD Almighty, if you will only look upon your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head.”
(1st Samuel 1:11 NIV)
Be careful what you promise in prayer because God may take you up on it. Hannah so desperately wanted a child that she was willing to strike a bargain with God. God took her up on her promise, and to Hannah’s credit, she did her part, even though it was painful. Although we are not in a position to barter with God, he may still choose to answer a prayer that has an attached promise. When you pray, ask yourself: “Will I follow through on any promises I make to God if he grants my request?” It is dishonest and dangerous to ignore a promise, especially to God. God keeps his promises, and he expects you to keep yours.
The people complained about their problems instead of praying. Some problems can be solved by careful thought or by rearranging our priorities. Some can be solved by discussion and good counsel. But some problems can be solved only by prayer. We should make a determined effort to pray when we feel like complaining because complaining only raises our level of stress. Prayer quiets our thoughts and emotions, and prepares us to listen.
