Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church Usher Ministry
What is an Usher? : An Usher is an official whose business is to introduce strangers, or to walk before person of rank, a forerunner and a doorkeeper.
A church usher is an officer of the church he or she serves. He/She introduces visitors to the church by having them sign a visitor’s card. The church usher helps the Pastor to make the service a success by putting the congregation in the right frame of mind to receive the message. The usher meets the people with a pleasant smile, a warm welcome, and directs them to comfortable seats. He/She also sees to it that perfect order is kept in and around the church at all times during the services.
Ushers are forerunners, for they prepare the church for the guests by being the first to arrive at the church; they receive the order of the day from the Pastor; they see that the church is in proper condition to receive the guest; they see that hymnals, fans, church literature, collection envelopes, and any other items that are to be distributed to the congregation are in their proper places. Church ushers are missionaries for the church for they perpetuate the spirit throughout the congregation.
FROM WHENCE COMES USHERING
Often times, we do not know or forget from whence comes ushering – from God. God was the very first Usher – as He ushed in day and light (Gen 1:3-4). God ushered man into the Garden of Eden (Gen. 2:15).
Ushers or forerunners are depicted throughout the Bible. Abraham ushered Faithfulness into the world (Gen. 22). Moses ushered the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt into the promise land.
The Start of Bethlehem ushered the wise men of the East to the place where Christ was born. John the Baptist, forerunner for Christ – prepared the way. He was the voice crying in the wilderness. (John 1:6-13).

YCIC “Youth Connection In Christ” is Morning Star’s Youth Ministry.
YCIC provides many services to our church and our community. The program provides an outreach to our youth, giving them a filling dose of our Christian Faith in a manor which their youthful mind can ingest. YCIC youth members participate in classes during Sunday worship, they also get together for youth activities and community outreach all throughout the year.
YCIC is broken into three groups:
Teen / Young Adult
Members in this group attend the worship portion of Sunday Service before going to their age appropriate service. They have regular meeting outside of Sunday service and they also take part in outreach throughout our community.
Adolescent / Child
Members of this group gather in the YCIC section of the building before Sunday service starts and participate in activities designed to strengthen their young christian faith. They also get together outside of Sunday service to have fun and bond, and take part in activities rooted in our Christian faith.
Toddler / Infant
Members in this group are looked after during Sunday service. They are cared for in an environment fostering spiritual growth, serenity, and peace.

Audio / Video Ministry
The A/V Ministry here at Morning Star is all about using technology to spread the word of the Lord. We embrace technology to allow our members and guests to better see and hear our service. We provide Audio CD’s and Video DVD’s as well as internet broadcasting to allow our members and guest who can’t attend service a chance to take part.
Being a member of MSMBC A/V Ministry means setting up A/V Equipment, continually updating, controlling, and maintaining the equipment. Team members also record audio and video of each service, edit and produce church Audio CD’s and DVD’s, as well as, package and ship them throughout the world.
Another component of the A/V Team is to maintain the church web sites. They ensure that the sites remains functional and up to date with the latest information for our members and guests.
